The Client’s Challenge

Shipping a chair direct to a consumer, so it arrives looking perfect, is no easy task. The founder of Shorebird and our team wanted that experience to be delightful in terms of how the brand and the product both present themselves. We were conscious of how the unboxing experience conveys the brand attributes and creates a delightful first impression, all without any plastic in the packaging.

The Strategic Approach

Collaborating with our structural packaging partners Stephen Gould, we set about developing a design that protects and then celebrates the product in a layered reveal. The inner book architecture delivers on those objectives - protected at first with the messaging hierarchy reinforced on the doors, followed up with a grand reveal, and finally the consumer takes the chair out and sees a range of illustrations that effortlessly guide the consumer through their first time use experience. Now it’s time to relax!
