Design a unique and differentiated collection by reimagining a 100+ years old production process, to create a modern statement.

The core physical brand language challenge was centered around how to create a product line with an ownable visual and experiential quality that evokes Caraway-ness.

The Strategic Approach

We identified elements of Caraway DNA in terms of form and gesture, combined with new details and proportions unique to how cast iron pieces are used in modern cooking.

Leveraging the potential of the materiality we embraced the design limitations inherent in cast iron production processes and made them strengths of this collection - such as unibody construction, tactility, detail definition, tolerances, color, and finish.

Scalable + Experiential

The Caraway Cast Iron Collection is derived from a rational pure geometry based approach to the main forms, creating scalable harmony visually for the diverse range of circular, soft square, or soft oblong pieces. 

Cooking with cast iron is visceral, and each piece required meticulous refinement to ensure the handles and supports are fluidly blended into the main bodies. Each pan and dish serves a specific purpose and is optimized for use with and without a mitt due to the high cooking temperatures unique to this collection.

Elevated Storage

For all Caraway products we always strive to think of the holistic user experience to ensure our products are loved in and out of use. The bespoke wooden storage solution provides a thoughtful and beautiful way to store or display the Caraway Cast Iron Collection.
